The Advanced Financial Group was founded by Robert and Sheila Telford on principles that ensure our client’s financial goals and objectives are at the forefront of every decision.

Our goals are to maintain the highest ethical standards and provide our clients with their own, individualized plan built around their personal expectations, desires and needs.

We believe it’s our team atmosphere that separates The Advanced Financial Group from other investment and insurance firms in the East Texas and surrounding areas.

We are native East Texans who not only live and work here but also give back to our community. We assist charitable organizations and serve on boards and committees of agencies who help our community survive and thrive. 

We want to help ensure a better life for all of our friends and neighbors, and we do that by helping them achieve their financial goals. We realize not everyone can utilize our services, so we are dedicated to ensuring the success of the agencies that help those who simply need to achieve the basic necessities of life – food, clothing and shelter.

History

Robert and Sheila Telford had a combined 29 years experience in the banking and savings and loan industry when they began The Advanced Financial Group in 1991. The main focus of the new business was life, health and disability insurance. 

Robert’s roots were in the saving and lending industry, and it was from those trusted clients he drew a client base and the confidence to start his new venture.

However, while his new business focused on life, health and disability insurance, many of his clients were requesting financial guidance for investments. Based on those requests, Robert changed the direction of the business and began to focus on providing not only insurance, but also a full range of financial services.

Today, The Advanced Financial Group’s staff of 13 helps clients achieve their financial goals through diligent study and examination of every investment avenue. They strive for success every day through their dedication to maintaining the latest technology and personal connections with investment companies.
