Sheila’s professional affiliations include a charter membership in the Association of Health Insurance Agents, which is now a part of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA). She also serves on the board of the Pineywoods Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.

Sheila earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Baylor University. Her education includes the School of Bank Marketing at the University of Colorado and achievement of the Life Underwriters Training Council Fellowship. The fellowship represents her extensive study in varied aspects of life and health insurance.

She also has taught in both public and private schools.

Sheila’s community involvement is extensive. Currently, she is treasurer of the Lufkin Adult Learning Center Advisory Board and a member of the Woodland Heights Medical Center Board of Trustees.

Her dedication to community service has been widely recognized. In 1992 she was awarded the Jack O. McMullen Silver Spike Award for Distinguished Community Service. She is a 1984 graduate of Leadership Lufkin.

Past community work includes having served the United Way of Angelina County in many capacities over several years, including campaign chair and president. She was a member of the Better Business Bureau of Brazos Valley and Deep East Texas Board of Directors. She was a member of the Consumer Credit Counseling Service of the Gulf Coast Board of Directors and is a member of Lufkin’s First Baptist Church Board of Trustees.
