Matt joined The Advanced Financial Group team in 2016 after a 15-year career in public education where he served as a teacher, coach, and school administrator. He helps lead the K-12 benefit/insurance division of our office to provide for the unique needs of the school employees and districts we serve. His background and experiences have helped him grow the footprint of our K-12 services.
Matt earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University before completing his master’s in education from Stephen F. Austin State University. He is a graduate of Leadership Lufkin and currently serves on the Lufkin ISD Board of Trustees, the Lufkin Boys and Girls Club Advisory Board as well as serving as Treasurer of the Lufkin HS Baseball Boosters. Matt serves on his Church Council and has also served on the Lufkin Leadership Tomorrow Board as well as the Lufkin Youth Baseball Board.
Matt’s wife, Brandie, is a counselor at Lufkin High School. They stay active with their three children, Cooper, Avery, and Landry. The Knights are members of Lufkin’s First United Methodist Church. Matt enjoys watching his kids compete, traveling, and watching the Texas Aggies play.
